Combined PDF with all music

First half

  • Poulenc: Un soir de neige —
    — 1. — 2. — 3. — 4.
  • Macmillan: O radiant dawn —
  • Quartel: A winter’s day —
    • Solo cello: Rachel
    • Solo piano: David
    • p.23, A1 sings S2
    • pp.30–34, A1 sings S2
    • pp.36–end, Rachel & David rejoin choir (if comfortable?)

Second half

  • Tallis: O nata lux de lumine —
    • Divides altos (notice A2 is written an octave higher, as if it were a tenor line)
  • Tallis: Te lucis ante terminum —
  • Byrd: Laudibus in sanctis —
  • Karlsson: Gøta —
    • The small notes in S1 are alternatives, not divisi (so top line is 1 singer)
  • Carter: The lark in the clear air —
    • Solo soprano: Émilie
    • Notice weird distribution of parts over staves later on
  • Porter / Blackwell: Let’s do it —
  • Shearing: Blow, blow, thou winter wind —
    • Piano: David
  • Mäntyjärvi: Pseudo-Yoik —
    • OK this one is a faff
    • From the beginning to bar 23: T1 sings tenor line alone, T2 sings bass. When basses divide into 2, let’s have 2 basses on low note and 1 bass (i.e. T2) on upper note. When basses divide into 3, obviously one singer per part (T2, B1, B2)
    • For the bits where it divides into 11 (bars 24–31 and 56–63): Here, T2 reverts to singing tenor. On both soprano and tenor lines, disregard the D. On the bass line, disregard the middle A
    • For the rest: sing as written. At the end, everyone gets the “nh”, not just the altos and basses please!
